Administrative Assistant

Support senior leadership, correspondence, scheduling, data, and coordination across GPEN’s international volunteer community.

Role details

What you would do

  • Schedule meetings, manage calendars, coordinate travel, and prepare correspondence.
  • Prepare internal and external emails, memos, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain filing systems, contact lists, donor databases, and program records.
  • Support records of activities and expenses while following data-protection and confidentiality practices.
  • Respond to inquiries and coordinate communication among teams, departments, partners, and global offices.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, office management, or a related field.
  • Administrative experience, ideally in a nonprofit or international setting.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google tools, Zoom, WhatsApp, and email; commitment to social justice, human rights, and international development.

Human Resources Manager

Lead volunteer HR functions by developing policies, recruiting and training volunteers, and fostering an engaged global team.

Role details

What you would do

  • Create and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with GPEN’s values and goals.
  • Identify volunteer needs and support recruitment, retention, orientation, and training.
  • Maintain regular communication, provide performance guidance, and address volunteer concerns.
  • Design recognition and appreciation programs that sustain morale.
  • Typical weekly duties include virtual management meetings, policy review, recruiting, training, volunteer support, engagement activities, and email or newsletter check-ins.

What you bring

  • Experience in human resources, volunteer management, or nonprofit administration.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, recruitment strategies, and training development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote team.
  • Passion for education, peacebuilding, and community service.

Video Production Intern

Support GPEN’s Production Department with video editing, content creation, and multimedia work from pre-production through publishing.

Role details

What you would do

  • Train on GPEN’s video and live-conferencing tools; isolate usable clips, add photos, titles, music, and audio adjustments.
  • Record via Zoom and traditional camera, log footage, and assist through pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Understand program content, recommend and source subject and royalty-free media, and help publish content to YouTube.

What you bring

  • Basic video-production and editing experience, plus a sample of content you created.
  • Access to Adobe Premiere or Final Cut, cloud storage, and Google or Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Creative problem-solving, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality productions.

Good to know

  • This is a volunteer position. GPEN can work with educational institutions on internship credit and offers learning and skill-growth opportunities.

Design & Messaging Intern

Support GPEN’s Design & Messaging Team by researching inspiration, organizing resource libraries, and helping craft effective peacebuilding messages.

What you would do

  • Research and catalog strong social-media designs; collect post specifications for logos, images, dimensions, pixel counts, orientation, and file formats.
  • Develop a library of GPEN messages and phrases, preserve past messaging, and collect inspiring examples from others.
  • Review tutorials for social-media messaging and Google Sites; research web designs, forms, and structural features, compiling screenshots and URLs into shared resources.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social-media marketing and web design.
  • Experience with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, Google Docs, Zoom, WhatsApp, and email proficiency, plus excellent communication and collaborative working skills.
  • Commitment to social justice, human rights, and international development.
